    – Two of President Mohamed Farmaajo’s friends, Galmudug and South West state leaders, have disputed a fresh declaration by the Federal Elections Indirect Team (FEIT) asking for the swearing-in of the 11th parliament on April 14.

The proclamation was unlawful, according to President Abdiasis Lafta Gareen and his Galmudug counterpart Ahmed Qoorqoor, who added that FEIT did not have the authority to make such statements.

The two leaders were responding to a statement released by the FEIT on Tuesday designating April 14 as the inauguration day for freshly elected MPs and Senators.
The decision came after the March 15 deadline for the end of the Lower House elections had passed.

HirShabelle, Puntland, and Jubaland have yet to complete the drill that began in October last year.

The exercise was finished by the South West and Galmudug on Tuesday, while the Somaliland Caucus and the Banaadiri Community completed it much earlier.

In an apparent hint of no opposition, Prime Minister Mohamed Roble did not applaud the revised timelines.

However, the National Consultative Council is expected to meet soon to provide more directions following the election of over 240 MPs.
