Initially, the system will be implemented in a few healthcare facilities.

“Taiwan believes that weapons cannot increase human welfare, but health can,” said Taiwan representative to Somaliland Allen Lou () at the recent signing ceremony.

“Taiwan will continue to uphold universal health values and honor our commitments to health cooperation for the benefit of the people,” he stated.

“The Somaliland government is committed to improving the national medical level,” said Liban Yusuf Osman, Somaliland’s Deputy Minister of Health Development, who also spoke at the ceremony. Bilateral health cooperation will be more comprehensive and productive under this project.”

According to the Somaliland Chronicle, this is the second healthcare-related project the two countries have collaborated on since the mutual establishment of representative offices in each other’s capitals.
