    The Turkish president continues to press for peace in Ukraine through diplomatic measures.

    With discussions at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan maintained his diplomatic efforts for a cease-fire in the Russia-Ukraine war, the safe evacuation of civilians from the region, and the building of peace.

     

    Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on February 24, Erdogan hosted a security session at the Presidential Complex with a number of Cabinet officials and important employees.

    Then Erdogan spoke via phone with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, on February 26 and March 4, with follow-ups on February 26 and March 4. Erdogan stated that they were advocating for a cease-fire to avoid additional casualties and damage to Ukraine.

    On March 6, Erdogan spoke by phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Erdogan warned Putin during the call that Turkey is ready to help solve the Ukraine issue by peaceful means as soon as possible
