Abdullahi Mohamed Ali Sanbaloshe, the former Director of the Somali National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), won the election for seat HOP058 in the Lower House of Somali Parliament on Monday in Beledweyne.
Sanbaloshe was proclaimed the winner after obtaining 54 votes in the first round, removing the need for a second round because he won by a majority. Former Hirshabelle president Ali Abdullahi Osoble was among the seven candidates that ran for the seat.
Abdullahi Mohamed Ali Sanbaloshe received 54 votes, former Hirshabelle president Ali Abdullahi Osoble received 28, Abdulkadir Hussein Olow received 8, Abdullahi Ahmed Hussein received 5, Mohamed Afduub Makaraan received two votes, Ubah Ali Sheegow received nothing, and Yonis Mohamed Nur received two votes in the election.
