President of the United States Joe Biden stated that as the eight-month mark of Moscow’s war in Ukraine approaches, Russian President Vladimir Putin is not faring well.
During a press conference about gas prices, Biden stated, “I think that Vladimir Putin finds himself in an incredibly difficult position.”
He said, “What reflects to me is that it seems his only tool at his disposal is to brutalise individual citizens in Ukraine, Ukrainian citizens, in an attempt to intimidate them into capitulating.
Hours prior to Biden’s comments, Putin had signed a decree establishing martial law in the recently annexed Ukrainian regions of Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk, and Zaporizhzhia.
While Moscow called up more reservists and launched new attacks in Ukraine, including Kyiv, following an explosion on a crucial bridge connecting Russia to Crimea, which it illegally annexed in 2014, Kyiv’s forces have made progress recently.
