A Somali man has been shot dead in South Africa by gunmen, police have said.
The deceased was identified as Abdinasir Mohamud Abdi and was killed in Mitchells Plain, a suburb of Cape Town.
According to reports, the group behind the killing fled the scene.
Security forces went to the scene after the killing of the Somali businessmen and conducted a brief search.
Somalis in South Africa have expressed concern over the killing and called on the government to address the ongoing killings, injuries and looting of businesses in the country.
In recent days there has been an increase in attacks against Somalis, and a growing number of killings of traders in the country.
South Africa has in recent years experienced Xenophobic attacks that can only be described as horrific. Many South African believe that Africans are coming to South Africa to take jobs and opportunities away from locals. Despite all the media coverage and statements made by South African officials the xenophobic attacks still continue.
