Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia advanced to the FIFA Club World Cup final on Tuesday, defeating Flamengo of Brazil 3-2.
In the fourth minute, Salem Aldawsari’s penalty goal gave Saudi Arabia an early lead at Ibn Batouta Stadium in Tangier, Morocco.
Flamengo advances Pedro equalized in the 20th minute.
Flamengo’s Gerson Santos da Silva was sent off with a second yellow card in the 53rd minute, and Al Hilal were granted a penalty by visual assistant referee (VAR). In the 54th minute, Aldawsari scored another penalty shot, and the first half finished 2-1.
In the 70th minute, Argentine forward Luciano Vietto made it 3-1 for Al Hilal, and Pedro equalized for the Brazilians in the 91st minute.
The game ended 3-2, as Al Hilal advanced to their first FIFA Club World Cup final.
Al Hilal will face the winner of Wednesday’s encounter between Al Ahli and Real Madrid on Saturday.
The FIFA Club World Cup, originally known as the FIFA Club World Championship when it began in 2000, is an international men’s association football competition organized by the International Association Football Federation (FIFA).
The Club World Cup involves the champions of six continental confederations, including Real Madrid, the defending UEFA Champions League champions, and the host nation’s champions.
Real Madrid qualified for the Club World Cup for the sixth time, having previously won the competition in 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2018.
Chelsea of England won the 2021 Club World Cup, however they will not be able to defend their title in Morocco.
