As hopes of discovering further survivors fade, a young girl was recovered from the rubble of a collapsed structure 248 hours after an earthquake struck southern Turkey.

Aleyna Olmaz, 17, was discovered alive under the rubble in Kahramanmaras province’s Dulkadiroglu area.

She was taken to a hospital for medical attention.

The two massive earthquakes that rattled southern Turkey last week killed at least 36,187 people, according to the country’s disaster service on Thursday.

More than 13 million people were affected by the magnitude 7.7 and 7.6 earthquakes on February 6 in 11 provinces, including Adana, Adiyaman, Diyarbakir, Gaziantep, Hatay, Kilis, Malatya, Osmaniye, Sanliurfa, and Elazig.

Several nations in the region, notably Syria and Lebanon, were affected by the powerful tremors.
