Argentina topped the FIFA Men’s World Ranking for the first time since 2017, according to the latest standings released by the world football’s governing body on Thursday.
Argentina, which won the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar in December, dethroned Brazil in March after beating Panama 2-0 and Curacao 7-0 in friendly matches.
Brazil was defeated 2-1 by Morocco last month.
Argentina, also known as La Albiceleste (The White and Sky Blue), previously topped the FIFA rankings in March 2017.
Argentina is the new leader with 1,840.93 points, followed by France, the 2022 World Cup silver winner, with 1,838.45 points.
Brazil is in third place with 1,834.21 points.
On July 20, the next FIFA World Ranking will be released.
