On Saturday, Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay hailed Britain’s newly crowned King Charles III during the country’s first coronation service in nearly 70 years.

“We attended King Charles III of the United Kingdom’s coronation ceremony.” I congratulate King Charles III, the Royal family, the people of the United Kingdom, and the government of the United Kingdom. “I believe that Turkish-UK relations will strengthen in the coming years,” Oktay stated on Twitter.

Charles III and Queen Camilla were crowned on Saturday at Westminster Abbey, the site of nearly a millennium of coronations in Britain since 1066, in the country’s first coronation service in nearly 70 years.

Charles was crowned with the ancient St. Edward’s Crown at the coronation service, which was led by the archbishop of Canterbury, the senior bishop of the Church of England, making him the 40th British monarch to swear the traditional Oath of Faithful Service.
