According to US media, at least seven people were murdered and six others were injured after they were struck by a vehicle while waiting at a bus stop in Brownsville, Texas, on Sunday.
“The driver has been arrested and charged, but investigations are ongoing,” Brownsville Police Department Lt. Martin Sandoval told Fox News.
According to Fox News, authorities have yet to reveal the identify of the driver, who is currently receiving medical care at a nearby hospital and is under 24-hour surveillance.
The event occurred outside Brownsville’s Ozanam Center, a community shelter for migrants and the destitute.
