    On Thursday, Lionel Messi scored the fastest goal of his history just 79 seconds into a friendly match against Australia.

    Argentina won the exhibition match at the Beijing Workers’ Sports Complex thanks to Messi and German Pezzella.

    Messi scored a superb long-range goal on a penalty arc in the 2-0 win, with Enzo Fernandez assisting.

    Meanwhile, Messi will leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the month to join Major League Soccer club Inter Miami.

    The 35-year-old skipper led Argentina to the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in 2022.
