According to Anadolu Agency, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke by phone late Wednesday with numerous international leaders, expressing pleasantries on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, one of the main Muslim holy festivals.
Erdogan spoke with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, according to separate statements issued by the Directorate of Communications in Ankara, and the leaders expressed mutual hope that the festival would bring peace, tranquilly, and abundance to all humanity, particularly the Turkish and Islamic worlds.
President Erdogan also wished Mirziyoyev success in the next presidential election on July 9, stating that the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council’s third meeting should take place as soon as feasible.
Kazakh President Kassim Jomart Tokayev was also among the leaders Erdogan talked with via phone, and the two expressed shared optimism that Eid would bring peace and abundance to all humanity, especially the Islamic World.
President Erdogan offered his condolences for the forest fires in the Abay area, stating Turkiye is ready to provide the required assistance for the work that has to be done in the region.
Later, Erdogan spoke via phone with Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, both of whom expressed hope that the holiday will bring peace, particularly to the Islamic World.
The Turkish president stated that the next meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council should be held in Pakistan at the most convenient time agreed upon by all parties.
In addition, Erdogan talked with Somalia’s President Hasan Sheikh Mahmud. During the phone call, the leaders conveyed their desire for Eid to bring peace to the Islamic world.
Erdogan stated that he is closely monitoring the inclusive process for the development of political reconciliation and peace in Somalia, and that Turkiye would continue to help the country.
The Turkish president also spoke with Algerian President Abdelmajdid Tebboune on the phone. During the discussions, the two leaders expressed hope that Eid would bring peace to the Islamic world.
President Erdogan stated that he is closely following the implementation of the decisions taken at the most recent High-Level Cooperation Council meeting and pledged Turkiye’s assistance to Algeria.
In the meanwhile, Erdogan spoke on the phone with UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, sharing Eid greetings and hoping for global peace.
Erdogan spoke on the phone individually with Ersin Tatar, president of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), and Unal Ustel, prime minister, wishing each other a happy Eid.
