The Somalia Labour Bill, proposed by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and the Executive Council of the Somali National Statistics Agency, was passed during the weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Federal Republic of Somalia, chaired by Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre.
The Somali Labour Bill, filed by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, was unanimously adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers, dramatically altering the status and employment rights of government employees as well as those of private firms.
The Council also authorised the National Statistics Agency’s Executive Council, which was proposed by the Ministry of Planning, Investment, and Economic Development and consists of eight members.
The goal of appointing this council is to expedite the organization’s operations and large-scale work, as well as to finish the laws for the establishment of a high-quality management council.
The Council heard updates on the country’s security, taxation, sports, and Hajj concerns from the Ministries of Internal Security, Defence, Finance, and Religion and Endowments during the meeting.
