Somali Magazine – Nigeria advanced to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) quarterfinals with a 2-0 shutout win against five-time winners Cameroon on Saturday.
Forward Ademola Lookman scored twice in minutes 36 and 90 at Abidjan’s Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium, advancing his country to the next round.
Nigeria, the 2013 champions, will face Angola in the round of eight on February 2.
Earlier Saturday, Angola defeated Namibia 3-0 in a last-16 match.
On Sunday, Equatorial Guinea will face Guinea, while Egypt, the AFCON record holders, will face the Democratic Republic of the Congo for the final eight spots.
