Phil Foden of Manchester City has been awarded Premier League Player of the Season for 2023–24.
“To win this award is an achievement that I am extremely proud of,” Foden stated on Manchester City’s official website.
“The Premier League is acknowledged as the greatest league in the world, and it is a pleasure to have been nominated with so many other great players who have all enjoyed special seasons for their clubs,” he said.
Foden, a 23-year-old Academy graduate, has 17 goals and eight assists this season.
The midfielder helped Manchester City win the UEFA Champions League, the FIFA Club World Cup, five English Premier League crowns, four League Cups, and two FA Cups.
In addition, Kevin De Bruyne won the award in 2019/20 and 2021/22, Ruben Dias won in 2020/21, and Erling Haaland won last year.
Vincent Kompany was also named Player of the Season for 2011/12.
Foden won the prize for the first time in his career.
