MOGADISHU, SOMALIA – February 25, 2025 – Heavy fighting erupted on Tuesday in the Beera Yabaal area of the Hiran region as Somali government forces, supported by local militias, clashed with Al-Shabaab militants. The battle broke out after Al-Shabaab fighters launched an attack on allied forces stationed near Beera Yabaal, which falls under the Bula Burte district.
Casualties and Combat
Both sides reportedly sustained heavy casualties, with fierce combat involving heavy weaponry.
