In a step toward deepening diplomatic relations, Somalia’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Isaak Mohamud Mursal, met with Turkmenistan’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Ahmet Gurbanov, for high-level talks on Monday. The meeting took place in Awaza, a coastal city along the Caspian Sea in Turkmenistan.
Deputy Minister Mursal was joined by Somalia’s Ambassador to Turkey, Fathudin Ali Mohamed, who also serves as the non-resident Ambassador to Turkmenistan. The meeting comes at a time when both countries are looking to expand their international partnerships and strengthen bilateral cooperation.
Strengthening Political and Economic Ties
During the meeting, the two delegations discussed ways to improve cooperation in various areas, including politics, trade, economy, and culture. Deputy Minister Mursal praised Turkmenistan for hosting the event and said Somalia values the country’s efforts in bringing the international community together to find solutions for landlocked nations. He emphasized that Somalia is committed to working closely with countries like Turkmenistan to promote sustainable development and peace worldwide.
