    Barcelona wins El Clasico, thereby ending Real Madrid’s title ambitions.

    Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 2-1 in a thrilling El Clasico on Sunday, thus ending the Whites’ title chances.

    Visitors Real Madrid took an early lead at Spotify Camp Nou when Brazilian striker Vinicius Junior crossed from the left, but the ball deflected off Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo’s head and into the Barcelona net.

    Sergi Roberto scored for Barcelona just before halftime after Real Madrid failed to clear the ball. Roberto took advantage of a rebound to score with his right foot, beating Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

    Near the end of the game, Barcelona made a comeback.

    In the 92nd minute, Barcelona’s Alejandro Balde found an unmarked Franck Kessie in the Real Madrid area, and the Ivorian midfielder scored with a low effort.

    Barcelona now has 68 points in 26 matches, putting them 12 points ahead of Real Madrid, who is in second position.

    The Spanish La Liga season will end after 12 games.

    Barcelona’s website announced that 95,745 football fans attended Sunday’s El Clasico at Estadio Camp Nou.

    It is regarded as one of the most important football rivalries in terms of both clubs’ competitive profiles.
