After his long-term wife Georgina Rodriguez gave birth to twins, football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo confirmed the death of his infant son during childbirth on Monday.
“It is with great sadness that we must inform you that our baby son has passed away. It is the most excruciating pain that any parent can experience “On his official Instagram account, he stated.
“Only the arrival of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness,” Ronaldo added. “We would like to express our gratitude to the physicians and nurses for all their expert care and support.”
The 37-year-old, who is now a father of five after the birth of his daughter, also expressed his sadness and requested privacy during this trying time.
Back in October, Ronaldo announced that he and Rodriguez were expecting twins.
