The governor of Gedo region, Mr. Ahmed Bulle Mohamed (Gareed) spoke to reporters about the security situation in the region and the upcoming elections in Garbaharey.
The speaker announced that the administration is ready for the upcoming parliamentary elections in the city.
He also pointed out that they have made great efforts to ensure security, especially in the areas where the parliamentary elections are taking place in Garbaharey district.
Ahmed Bulle also added that government and AMISOM forces are currently on high alert and conducting operations there.
“The security agencies have made efforts to secure Garbaharey district. We are really ready for the Federal parliamentary elections. We have no doubt about the security situation and the government forces and AMISOM police are on high alert at the polling station. We expect a delegation to go to Garbaharey and we are ready for it, ”said the Gedo regional commissioner.
He called on the public to work with the security forces and play a role in the country’s elections.
Gedo region has been embroiled in a long-running dispute that has affected the elections, but has since been resolved by members of the National Consultative Assembly.
