Somali Magazine October 22, 2023- Since Oct. 7, Israel has bombed 26 mosques in Gaza, according to the Gaza-based Endowments and Religious Affairs Ministry.
According to the ministry, Israeli bombings in most regions of the enclave also seriously destroyed dozens of mosques.
According to the report, Israeli airplanes also destroyed the ministry’s headquarters, a Quran radio station, and a church.
The group called on “the Islamic and international organizations to urgently intervene to take practical steps to stop the aggression on Gaza, and to hold Israel accountable for its criminal practices against civilians, mosques and churches.”
The crisis in Gaza, which has been under Israeli assault and embargo since October 7, began when the Palestinian resistance group Hamas launched Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, a multi-pronged surprise onslaught that comprised missile launches and infiltrations into Israel by land, sea, and air.
The incursion, according to Hamas, was in revenge for the takeover of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the increasing violence by Israeli settlers.
Following that, the Israeli military started Operation Swords of Iron on Hamas targets in Gaza.
At least 4,385 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli assaults on Gaza, including 1,756 children. In Israel, the figure is more than 1,400.
