    Man City hammer underdogs Luton Town, top English Premier League table

    Manchester City defeated Luton Town 5-1 to take the top spot in the English Premier League table for the first time since November 25. The game began with a 1-0 lead for Man City thanks to an own goal from Daiki Hashioka of Luton Town, and the lead was doubled in the 64th minute after a vicious right-footed volley by Croatian midfielder Mateo Kovacic.

    Norwegian superstar Erling Haaland then converted a penalty kick to make it 3-0, although Luton Town closed the gap to two goals in the 81st minute after an error by Man City’s defense.

    Man City’s Jeremy Doku, a Belgian winger, scored a goal on his own in the 87th minute. He completed by dribbling quickly in from his left wing. The hosts had a 4-1 advantage.

    The goal from the penalty arc by Croatian defender Josko Gvardiol past Luton goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski in injury time. Consequently, Man City prevailed 5-1.

    With 32 games played, Man City leads with 73 points.

    The fourth-place Aston Villa team takes against Arsenal on Sunday at London’s Emirates Stadium. Liverpool will host Crystal Palace at Anfield on the same day.

    Following a 4-0 loss at home, Tottenham Hotspur has 60 points.
