Mogadishu (SOMALI MAGAZINE) – H.E Ahmed Macalin Fiqi, Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs, and Reconciliation for the Federal Government of Somalia, met with high-level delegations from India today in Mogadishu, led by Dr. Sureh Kumara, a senior officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, the two sides addressed a variety of subjects, including bilateral collaboration and the Somali government’s progress on security and development initiatives.
Somalia’s ambassador to India, Mr. Ahmed Ali Dahir, was also in attendance, as were representatives of the Federal Government of Somalia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The conversation centered on Somali residents’ problems in obtaining visas for health and education in neighboring nations.
Minister Fiqi asked Indian officials to bring visa services closer to the people by establishing a consulate in Mogadishu, so that Somali individuals who need to travel to India for medical or educational reasons may obtain visas without having to fly to another country.
