(SOMALI MAGAZINE) Mogadishu H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, praised the government’s efforts in creating a stable and inclusive economy as he inaugurated a workshop on the expansion and development of the national economy.
The workshop was attended by the Ministries of Production as well as international economic experts, such as Professor Stefan Dercon, an Oxford University lecturer and economic expert. Professor Dercon presented strategies for achieving a developed economy and discussed the long-term objectives of achieving economic self-sufficiency.
The Prime Minister emphasized the value of cooperating to foster economic progress and seize chances while outlining how Somalia may benefit from its advantageous location, its creative population, and its commercial linkages to the area.
PM Hamza stressed the significance of updating the National Development Plan and switching to the NTP, a new national plan that is centered on developing economic policies and plans that promote job creation, economic growth, and the maintenance of economic stability.
