(SOMALI MAGAZINE) Mogadishu Following several weeks of examination, the Lower and Upper Houses of the bicameral parliament of the Federal Republic of Somalia approved the first four chapters of the Constitution, a move that was applauded by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
“I implore the members of the parliament to continue in reviewing, amending, and completing the remaining chapters of the constitution. Today marks a significant day for state-building in Somalia. The completion of the constitution is a huge improvement for the country’s democratic, independence, and sovereignty,” stated President Mohamud.
The Federal Government of Somalia’s Prime Minister, H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, congratulated the parliament on passing the first four chapters of the constitution and urged them to work on finalizing the remaining chapters.
The Prime Minister further emphasized that working for the completion of the constitution is one of his government’s top goals and that it benefits every Somali citizen.
