Mogadishu (SOMALI MAGAZINE) H.E Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, officially began the Fifth Session of the Federal Parliament of Somalia. In an address to a joint session of Parliament, the President praised the historic deliberations and review to finalize the Constitution as a significant step toward improving democratization, the rule of law, and ensuring that our citizens exercise their constitutional rights, including the right to vote and be directly elected.
The President highlighted the key accomplishments of the previous year, including the conclusion of the debt relief process, the formal establishment of the EAC blog, and the removal of the decades-long weapons embargo.
The President also praised Parliament’s determination to protect our people’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity in the face of Ethiopia’s illegal actions.
