Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) won their 11th French league title on Saturday with a 1-1 draw against Strasbourg.

Argentine ace Lionel Messi opened the scoring in the 59th minute at Strasbourg’s Meinau Stadium, but home club attacker Kevin Gamiero equalised in the 79th.

PSG won the French championship with a game to spare.

With one game remaining in the league, the Paris giants pulled four points clear of second-place Lens.

Champions for the second time in a row PSG surpassed Saint-Etienne, which won their tenth title in 1981.

Last season, Saint-Etienne was demoted to the second tier.

    PSG has dominated the French top-tier league during the previous 11 seasons, capturing nine titles in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022, and 2023.
