The State of Qatar took part in the 5th Quint Meeting on Somalia, which was convened at the invitation of the United Arab Emirates and attended by HE President of the Federal Republic of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, as well as the Republic of Turkey, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
HE Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, represented Qatar during the meeting.
Addressing the conference, HE Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that at the beginning of this year,
The region continues to face several difficulties, as well as rapid developments that necessitate ongoing communication and cooperation among regional and international partners in order to handle them and prevent the consequences.
HE emphasised the importance of continuing efforts to strengthen support for Somalia’s security and stability, as well as attaining its people’s ambitions for growth and prosperity, as well as realising Somalia’s national priorities in a variety of areas.
His Excellency further confirmed the State of Qatar’s commitment to the sisterly Federal Republic of Somalia’s unity and sovereignty over its whole territory, stating that dialogue and peaceful resolution of international problems are the most effective ways to address any situation.
