Somali Magazine President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has accused Russia of kidnapping Melitopol Mayor Ivan Fedorov, comparing his acts to those of “ISIS militants.”
Fedorov was apprehended on Friday while dealing with supply concerns at the city’s crisis center.
Late Friday, Zelensky confirmed the kidnapping in a video message, calling Fedorov’s capture a crime.
“They have entered a new level of terror,” Zelenskyy stated in a video speech Friday evening, “in which they strive to physically liquidate representatives of Ukraine’s lawful local government.”
“This is clearly an evidence of the invaders’ weakness… They’ve progressed to a new level of horror, in which they’re attempting to physically eliminate legitimate local Ukrainian officials.
