Slovakia’s government approved the supply of 13 MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine on Friday, according to Prime Minister Eduard Heger.
This comes just a day after Poland announced the deployment of a dozen fighter jets to Ukraine.
“I’m glad others are doing the same,” Heger said, adding that military assistance is critical to ensuring Ukraine’s ability to “defend itself and the entire Europe against Russia.”
On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a “special military operation” in Ukraine.
According to the most recent UN estimates, the battle between the two neighboring countries has killed 8,231 people and injured 13,734 others.
