– To stop transnational crimes, the Somali Federal Police and the Ethiopian Federal Police inked a cooperation agreement.
The two police entities would collaborate to prevent and regulate terrorism, human trafficking, and the trafficking of armaments, according to the agreement.
In Addis Ababa, Major General Abdi Hassen Mohamad of Somalia and Commissioner-General of the Ethiopian Federal Police Demelash Gebremikael signed a cooperation agreement.
The agreement is intended to let the two agencies work jointly on transnational crimes particularly in the prevention of terrorism, human trafficking and arms smuggling.
Additionally, the deal gives Somalia Police officers the chance to enroll in training at the Ethiopian Police University.
A group of 40 Somali police officers are anticipated to arrive in Ethiopia soon to enroll at the university and pursue their first and second degrees.
