President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud meets with Adale leaders to enhance military coordination and ensure lasting peace
Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud visited the Adale district on Friday to meet with local leaders, elders, and intellectuals. His goal was to strengthen teamwork and speed up military operations against Al-Shabaab in the Middle Shabelle region.
During his visit, President Mohamud stressed the importance of everyone working together to support the Somali National Army (SNA). He encouraged local communities to stand behind the military as they continue their fight against the militant group. The president praised the resilience of the people and urged them to keep cooperating to bring lasting peace and security to the region.
“The support of local leaders and intellectuals is crucial in uniting communities and ensuring our national forces succeed,” President Mohamud said.
The elders and intellectuals attending the meeting appreciated the president’s direct involvement in the fight against Al-Shabaab. They reassured him of their full support and promised to work closely with the government and security forces. At the end of the meeting, they agreed to improve communication and coordination between the military and local communities to keep the counterterrorism efforts moving forward.
President Mohamud is currently spending his second night in the Adale district. He is traveling with top military commanders to assess the situation on the ground. Before coming to Adale, he also visited Moqokori and Adan Yabaal districts to check on the progress of military operations and to plan the next steps in the fight against Al-Shabaab.
The Somali government has recently increased its military actions in the central and southern regions of the country. The goal is to push Al-Shabaab out of the territories they control and reestablish civilian rule.
The government remains determined to restore security and stability across the country, and President Mohamud’s visit is part of ongoing efforts to bring leaders and communities together in this mission. By working hand in hand with local people, the Somali National Army hopes to continue making progress in defeating Al-Shabaab and ensuring a peaceful future for all citizens.
