President of the United States Joe Biden stated on Wednesday that the bogus allegations of a stolen election made by his predecessor Donald Trump have “fuelled the alarming rise of political violence and voter intimidation,” and that as a result, American democracy is under threat.
In a speech on defending democracy, Biden stated that “American democracy is under threat because the defeated former president of the United States refuses to accept the results of the 2020 election.”
“He rejects submitting to popular will. He rejects the realisation that he misused his position of authority, put his own interests ahead of those of the Constitution, and lost his job “At a DNC gathering in Washington, the president made the statement.
Biden continued, “And he’s turned a gigantic untruth into an axiom of the MAGA Republican Party, the minority of that party.
Six days prior to the midterm elections in which Americans will choose members of Congress and local politicians, he made these remarks.
“The most attacked election in our history makes the 2020 election all the more ironic. However, no election in our history has allowed us to be so certain in the outcome “Biden remarked.
The president also discussed the assault that occurred on Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul last week and connected it to the brutality that prompted the rioting in the nation’s capital on January 6.
According to Biden, “These acts of intimidation and violence against Democrats, Republicans, and nonpartisan officials who are merely carrying out their duties are the result of lies told for power and profit, lies of conspiracy and malice.”
We need to tackle those lies with the truth right now. Our country’s very future depends on it.
He remarked, “My fellow Americans, we’re at a turning point, a defining moment.”
So, regardless of party, I make a plea to all Americans today to seize this crucial opportunity for our country and generation. We must vote with knowledge of the issues at hand, not only the current policy, he continued.
