About SOBA Awards
The Somali Business Awards 2022 Acknowledges the Outstanding Businesses – providing an exceptional customer service experience” The Somali Business Awards is the most comprehensive business awards program covering a wide variety of industry categories. The categories in each region vary in order to recognize the industries in the specific business community.
The Somali Business Awards are an initiative to recognize emerging enterprises and their contributions to the Somali economy. SOBA aspires to inspire and support local firms to promote Somalia and exhibit its products and services abroad, in keeping with the Government’s objective to developing home-grown businesses.
To encourage firms to expand beyond their borders, these prizes will be given to local businesses that excel in numerous fields. This means that firms are evaluated not just on their bottom lines, but also on their ability to anticipate the needs of the organization and the economic sector in which they operate. A company that can adapt its operational methods to address environmental issues, and In the process of increasing its earnings, it will stand out.
Local enterprises who export their products and/or services will be given special consideration, as their operations promote Somalia as a global centre of commercial excellence.
Our second annual Somalia Business Awards will be held on (November 10, 2022) After the public has nominated, our judges will make a selection of the shortlisted companies, which we will disclose publicly through media (TVs, radios, and social media). Nominations will be accepted on our website, www.sobaawards.com.
Following the announcement of the shortlisted companies, the second phase will begin, which will involve the public voting for the finest companies on our website, www.sobaawards.com.
In 2021 after over 300 thousand people made their chose for the Somali’s Best companies of 2021, 26 companies have been awarded into different category.
These awards are also divided into 28 categories for businesses, with the goal of recognizing the accomplishments of rising small-medium firms, including start-ups, as well as established businesses on an equal playing field. At its core, SOBA recognizes the critical role that local businesses play in the development of our country, regardless of their income level.

The Somali Business Awards aim to pay tribute to and reward the local community’s best businesses.
It also aims to develop and strengthen the bonds between businesses and the community
thereby improving the standards of local business.
Somali Business Awards were created to promote excellence and stimulate positive competition by highlighting the accomplishments of excellent businesses, with the following fundamental objectives:

When do Nominations Open 2022?
The first phase of Nomination started on 1st September 2022 public will have the opportunity to nominate their favorite businesses Companies in a selected category. Customers are able to nominate a business by:
- Visiting the Somali Business Awards website.
- Submitting coupons provided in one of our local Media Partner.
- Submitting coupons located at their favorite business’ premises
The Somali Business Awards will announce when Nominations close for a specific region. Nominations will be accepted up until the Nominations 30th September 2022.
Finalists are selected based on the number of online and printed nominations they receive in their specific category, the Winner businesses will be selected.
Finalist businesses will be notified of their selection by the Somali Business Awards by email or telephone. Finalists will received a Finalist Pack that includes an Invitation to the Somali Business Awards Gala Presentation Evening, a Certificate, the Judging Criteria and General Information about the Awards.
The finalists of each category will be announced by one of our Media Partners.
The winners are announced at the prestigious Somali Business Awards Gala Presentation Evening attended by local business people, sponsors and dignitaries. Tickets are only available to finalists and sponsors.
