Somali Magazine -FIFA stated Sunday that the 2026 World Cup final would be contested on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New York/New Jersey, United States.
“The #FIFAWorldCup trophy will be raised in New York New Jersey!” FIFA said on X. “The #FIFAWorldCup 26 final will take place in New York New Jersey on 19 July 2026!”
The 82,500-capacity MetLife Stadium is home to the New York Jets and Giants of the National Football League, as well as the 2016 Copa America football tournament final, in which Chile defeated Argentina.
FIFA has scheduled the 39-day tournament’s opening match in Mexico City’s Estadio Azteca on June 11, with the third-place match at Florida’s Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.
“The opening match of #FIFAWorldCup 26 will take place in Mexico City at the Estadio Azteca on 11 June 2026!” FIFA said.
The FIFA World Cup, in its 23rd edition, will be held in three nations for the first time: Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
The inaugural 48-nation version of the football game will take place at 16 stadiums throughout the United States, including New York, Dallas, Miami, Kansas, Houston, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Seattle, San Francisco, and Boston.
The event will be held in Monterrey, Guadalajara, and Mexico City, as well as Vancouver and Toronto, Canada.
