    Accord University today hosted the inaugural E-Esports Career Day and Workshop, an innovative event organized by the E-Somali Sports Federation. This pioneering initiative, held on the university campus, was designed to open new career opportunities in the esports sector for Somali youth, offering essential skills training and networking with industry leaders.

    The E-Esports Career Day and Workshop at Accord University was not only aimed at sparking academic interest among young scholars but also at guiding them towards non-traditional career paths, cultivating a new generation of professionals poised to succeed in the dynamic esports industry. This event marks a significant step towards preparing a group of innovators and leaders to tackle the challenges of modern industries.

    In a compelling statement, Prof. Abdulkadir B. Mohamed, Vice-Chancellor of Accord University, emphasized the event’s importance, saying, “At Accord University, we are committed to creating platforms that prepare our students for the ever-changing job market. Today’s workshop hosted on our campus reflects our dedication to developing future leaders not only in esports but across various sectors.”

    With the esports industry currently valued at multiple billions and forecasted to reach $1.87 billion by 2025, opportunities abound for Somali students. Abdullahi Mohamud, President of the E-Somali Sports Federation, shared his vision, “This marks the beginning of a new chapter for esports in Somalia. Our partnership with Accord University hosting this event is crucial in positioning our youth as leaders, not just participants, in this global industry.”

     

    Salma Abdi Hassan Omar, Vice-President of the United Nations Association of Somalia, highlighted the event’s global significance, stating, “Esports transcends geographical boundaries, uniting diverse communities. Today’s initiative at Accord University positions Somalia as an emerging player in the international esports scene.”

    Abdilahi Abdirashid Mohamed, Secretary-General of the E-Somali Sports Federation, expressed his optimism, “Our collaborations, such as this one with Accord University, are essential in creating opportunities for our youth to pursue their dreams and contribute to national economic development.”

    Nagan Ali Ibrahim, Chief Administrator of Accord University, expressed appreciation, “We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Accord Students’ Union, the Accord Esports Club, and all participants for their pivotal role in the success of this event.
