Somali Magazine is proud to announce that the 7th Edition of the List of the 100 Most Influential Somali People 2025, together with the distinguished Person of the Year, will be officially unveiled in January.
Over the past seven years, this editorial initiative has grown into one of the most credible and widely respected recognitions of Somali leadership and influence. The list is not a ranking alone, but a reflection of real impact—honoring individuals whose leadership, vision, and actions have shaped public discourse, strengthened institutions, advanced economic growth, and inspired communities across Somalia and the global Somali diaspora.
For the 2025 edition, the list and the Person of the Year are drawn entirely from public nominations, reinforcing transparency, inclusivity, and community participation. The nomination process officially opened on October 10, 2025, and concluded on December 20, 2025, attracting nominations from across the world. These submissions were carefully reviewed through an independent editorial process that assessed influence, integrity, relevance, and measurable contribution throughout 2024.
This year’s edition marks a significant milestone as Somali Magazine will host the official announcement and celebration event in Minneapolis, Minnesota—a city recognized as one of the most vibrant centers of the Somali diaspora. Holding the event in Minneapolis reflects the magazine’s commitment to global Somali representation and to honoring leadership wherever it thrives.
The Person of the Year represents the highest editorial distinction, awarded to an individual whose influence transcended sectors and borders, shaped key conversations, and left a defining mark on the Somali narrative over the past year.
As the January announcement approaches, Somali Magazine reaffirms its dedication to editorial independence, credibility, and excellence. The 7th Edition stands not only as a celebration of achievement, but as a powerful testament to the collective voice, leadership, and future of the Somali people.
