    African leaders have congratulated Turkish President Erdogan on his reelection.

    World leaders congratulated Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on his historic reelection victory on social media and other forums on Sunday.

    In a letter, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune congratulated Erdogan on his reelection “victory,” while Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh said Erdogan’s victory demonstrates people’s renewed trust in his successful initiatives and policies.

    Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi also congratulated Erdogan on his victory in the runoff election on Sunday.

    “Warm congratulations to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on his brilliant reelection as President of the Republic of Türkiye,” Senegalese counterpart Macky Sall said in a tweet. I wish him the best of luck in his new role.”

    President Umaro Sissoco Embalo of Guinea-Bissau conveyed his “warm and sincere congratulations” to Erdogan, indicating that bilateral relations will be developed further.

    Ivory Coast President Alassane Ouattara also wished Erdogan well, saying the two nations’ outstanding partnership will continue in the interests of their peoples.

    President Hakainde Hichilema of Zambia was among the first Sub-Saharan African leaders to congratulate Erdogan on his reelection, tweeting: “We look forward to deepening our strategic partnership for greater peace, prosperity, and progress of both our countries.”

    Chad’s interim President, Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno, expressed satisfaction at Erdogan’s reelection.

    Niger’s President Mohamed Bazoum expressed his delight on Twitter, stating that “keeping him (Erdogan) at the head of state will contribute to strengthening the fruitful ties between our countries.”

    Capt. Ibrahim Traore, the chairman of Burkina Faso’s transitional administration, and Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, the leader of Sudan’s ruling Sovereign Council, were also among those who thanked Erdogan.

    On Twitter, Togolese President Faure Gnassingbe congratulated Erdogan on his reelection and emphasised the importance of continued efforts to improve collaboration.

    In a tweet, Madagascar President Andry Rajoelina congratulated President Erdogan and pledged to continue working with Turkey to develop relations.

    “Congratulations, brotherly and friendly Türkiye,” Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s office tweeted. “I extend heartfelt congratulations to my brother, President @RTErdogan, on his successful re-election!” stated Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre. “This demonstrates our confidence in and support for your leadership.” We look forward to seeing our two brotherly nations’ connections strengthen and our countries develop.”

    According to unofficial statistics, the Turkish incumbent obtained 52.16% of the vote, while opposition candidate Kemal Kilicdaroglu received 47.84% of the vote, with around 85% turnout.

    More over 64.1 million Turkish residents were registered to vote, with over 1.92 million having already voted at polling sites abroad.

    On May 14, no contender received more than 50% of the vote in the first round, necessitating the presidential runoff, albeit Erdogan led with 49.52%.Erdogan’s election coalition also secured a majority of seats in parliament on the same day.
