    Argentina defeated Mexico to maintain World Cup hopes.

    Argentina defeated Mexico 2-0 to maintain their World Cup hopes on Saturday.

    For the first 45 minutes of the game at Lusail Stadium, neither team was able to break the scoreless tie.

    Superstar Lionel Messi scored with his left foot from a long distance to give Argentina the lead. The goal was assisted in the 64th minute by Angel Di Maria.

    The Albicelestes increased their lead in the 87th minute thanks to a brilliant close-range shot from Enzo Fernandez.

    Poland earned their first World Cup victory by defeating Saudi Arabia 2-0 in another Group C match.

    Argentina earned three points to finish in second place, one point behind Poland, who led Group C. Mexico is last in the group with one point, while Saudi Arabia is third with three.
