Somali Magazine October 23, 2023-According to a local syndicate on Sunday, at least 18 Palestinian journalists have been slain in Gaza since October 7.

The latest fatality was Palestinian journalist Rushdi Sarraj, who was killed in Israeli assaults on Sunday, according to the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate (PJS).

Shuruk al-Ayle, Sarraj’s widow, told Anadolu that her husband was killed in an Israeli attack on the Gaza suburb of Tel al-Hawa.

The crisis in Gaza, which has been under Israeli assault and embargo since October 7, began when Hamas launched Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, a multi-pronged surprise offensive that comprised missile launches and infiltrations into Israel by land, sea, and air. It claimed the incursion was in response to the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
