The Turkish Foreign Ministry announced Tuesday that Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will visit Turkey for discussions on Wednesday.
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Wang will address bilateral ties during the meeting, according to a ministry statement.
Current regional and global issues will also be discussed, according to the statement.
On Tuesday, China replaced Foreign Minister Qin Gang, who had not been seen in public for a month, and re-appointed Wang as its top diplomat.
Turkey and China established diplomatic relations in 1971. Bilateral ties were promoted to “strategic cooperation” status in 2010.
