    Despite Argentina’s World Cup victory, Brazil remains in first place.

    The 2022 world champions Argentina have moved up to the second slot in the FIFA rankings, while Brazil has maintained the top spot.

    FIFA revised the ranking list on Thursday after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

    Holders of World Cup records Brazil continues to top the list with 1840.77 points. Croatia defeated Brazil in the quarterfinals of the Qatar 2022 tournament.

    Argentina, the defending world champion, needs 1838.38 points to move up to second place. Argentina, headed by Lionel Messi, won the 2022 World Cup after defeating France, the defending champion, 4-2 on penalties.

    Since 1986, Argentina had not won the World Cup.

    France, who won the world championship in 1998 and 2018, is ranked third with 1823.39 points.

    Morocco, who had a remarkable performance in Qatar 2022, is currently ranked 11th with 1672.35 points. In October, the African team had previously placed 22nd.

    As Croatia defeated the Atlas Lions 2-1 to claim the bronze medal, Morocco concluded the World Cup in fourth place.

    Seventh place with 1727.62 points is Croatia. They were ranked 12th in October.
