In collaboration with the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) represented Egypt in offering a training program for administrative personnel from investment agencies and authorities in 18 African countries.

The 5-day training session, titled “Promotion of Investment Projects,” was designed to teach African personnel how to advocate and attract foreign direct investment. It covered the design and operation of investment opportunity maps, the automation of investment operations, and the enhancement of investor service center efficiency.

The Authority’s Central Training Academy offered a number of training programs for African and Arab investment personnel.

The purpose is to demonstrate Egypt’s experience in recruiting investment, which is seen as a critical factor for foreign direct investment flows in the African continent.

This initiative is consistent with the Authority’s investment agreements and memorandums of understanding with African countries, with the goal of developing African capabilities that can create an investment-friendly environment and increase investment partnerships between Egypt and the rest of the continent.

Representatives from the Republic of the Congo, Malawi, Sierra Leone, Cameroon, South Sudan, Zimbabwe, Guinea-Conakry, Comoros, Somalia, Mauritania, Liberia, Kenya, Ghana, Gabon, Namibia, Senegal, Mozambique, and Chad participated in the training program.
