Leicester City, the English Premier League winners in 2016, were demoted on Sunday despite a victory against West Ham United.

Leicester City, often known as the Foxes, defeated West Ham United 2-1 in their home stadium, King Power Stadium.

However, Everton defeated Bournemouth 1-0 at Liverpool’s Goodison Park to finish 17th in the 2022-23 Premier League, guaranteeing the Toffees’ survival in the English top flight, while Leicester City ended 18th with 34 points in 38 matches, failing to prevent relegation.

Everton needed 36 points to stay in the game.

In addition, Leeds United, who finished 19th after the last game, was relegated along with Leicester City.
Tottenham Hotspur defeated Leeds United 4-1, with English sensation Harry Kane scoring twice.

Southampton, Leeds United, and Leicester City will all play in the Championship’s second division next season.
