    Grand opening ceremony for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar

    Somali Magazine –The FIFA World Cup 2022’s opening ceremony took place on Sunday at Al Bayt Stadium in the Gulf nation of Qatar’s Al Khor.

    The flags of all 32 participating countries were flying throughout the stadium, together with La’eeb, the official mascot of Qatar 2022, whose name is an Arabic word that means super-skilled player.

    Morgan Freeman, an African American actor, was one of the attendees.

    Jungkook, a K-pop artist from Korea, also gave a brief performance.

    The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, welcomed spectators from all over the world during the opening ceremony.

    How lovely it is that people can set aside what separates them and enjoy their variety, he remarked.

    He wished for “inspiring days of goodness and optimism” during the competition, and he welcomed everyone to Doha.

    At 1600GMT, the first match of the competition between Qatar and Ecuador in Group A will begin.
