Former Presidential Envoy for Stabilization and Civilian Protection, Mohamed Abdi Ware, has been named Deputy Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) by H.E. Mohamoud Ali Yusuf, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Djibouti and Chair of the IGAD Council of Ministers.
The Minister stated in a letter addressed to the Executive Secretary General of IGAD, Dr Workneh Gebeyehu, today on Sunday, December 10, 2024, that the decision to appoint Mr. Mohamed Abdi Ware as the new Deputy Executive Secretary of IGAD was made by the Assembly of the heads of States of IGAD during the ordinary summit in June 2023.
