In a Spanish La Liga game on Saturday, Barcelona defeated Cadiz 4-0, but the game was marred by a late-game medical emergency.

When a spectator in the stands required medical attention, the game was abruptly called off.

“Due to a medical emergency involving a fan in the stands, the game has been suspended. The athletes are en route to the changing rooms “said Barcelona on Twitter.

Nearby medical personnel from both teams treated the fan right away.

At home against Cadiz, Barcelona was up 2-0 when the game was called in the 82nd minute.

Prior to the referee pausing play, Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski and Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong both scored goals.

Players eventually came back onto the field to finish the game.

Ansu Fati of Spain scored a simple penalty-area goal to make it 3-0 for Barcelona in minute 86, with help from Lewandowski.

    Barcelona never stopped making goals.

In the 92nd minute, French winger Ousmane Dembele scored on a solo attempt.

With 13 points after five games, Barcelona is in first place in the league.

Cadiz is at the bottom of the La Liga standings after dropping every game.
