Napoli, the defending Italian champions, stated Thursday that they “never intended to offend or make fun of Victor Osimhen” after their nasty TikTok video generated outrage.

Osimhen “is an asset to the club,” Napoli declared in a statement without apologizing.

Napoli stated that the 24-year-old Nigerian star is one of the team’s primary pillars, and that the club “rejected all offers” to keep him in the summer of 2023.

“Expressive language is used in a lighthearted and playful manner on social media, particularly TikTok.” There was no purpose of ridicule or scorn in this case concerning Victor.

“If Victor was in any way offended, this was not at all in the club’s intentions,” they stated.

Osimhen was instrumental in Napoli winning their first Italian Serie A title in 33 years.

He was Serie A’s leading scorer last season, with 26 league goals.

Osimhen, who has been with Napoli since 2020, erased photographs and videos of himself wearing a Napoli jersey from his Instagram account following a weird film produced by the club’s TikTok account.
A high-pitched-voice-dubbed movie criticized the Nigerian international for missing a penalty attempt against Bologna on Sunday.

    The video was later removed.

According to reports, Osimhen is mulling legal action against the club.
