Manchester City’s Norwegian sensation Erling Haaland won the English Premier League’s Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season honours on Saturday.

“Erling Haaland is your EA SPORTS Player of the Season,” the Premier League announced on Twitter, before adding, “Your Hublot Young Player of the Season is Erling Haaland.”

The 22-year-old attacker said he was “honoured” to be the first individual in Premier League history to win both accolades in the same season and thanked everyone who voted for him.

Haaland, who left Germany’s Borussia Dortmund for Manchester City last summer, scored 36 goals in 35 Premier League games for Manchester City, helping them win the English title on May 20.

In early May, Haaland broke the record for most goals in a single English Premier League season with 35, surpassing the league’s renowned strikers Andy Cole and Alan Shearer, who each scored 34.

Cole and Shearer both retired long ago, in 2008 and 2006, respectively.

Haaland, who also represents Norway, is under contract with Man City until 2027.
